The fresh satellite image is taken from state of the art space technology using the most expensive imaging equipment available and was taken a few days ago. Oh look, there's a little monkey playing with a ball, I can't decide which is more attention grabbing although both equally great in their own merit. Surely everyone knows, if you fancy try being the little monkey, the best you could get at this today would be to install Google Earth on your computer. Warning though, you'll probably lose a lot of time, once you get involved in this...

I was thinking about this the other day... Back in around 2000 or so, I remember working in a company that could not trust it's staff to use Windows based computers, so the boss purposely made the terminals in the premises wsywig (what you see is what you get) ie dumb terminals, because the workers used to bugger around on the computers otherwise. Sad really.
This is known as a dragline excavator. They are used in open pit mines and can be used for dredging coastlines etc. Intrestingly, they usually run on electric (something like 13KV or like that if I recall correctly.) This means that often a purpose built power station is employed to provide the power. From talking to a human, I learned that often the coal is used to also run the power station on site. The fuel operating costs for such a large machine like this are actually pretty minimal, all things considered. The best thing, is the way they move, they basically walk because they are so heavy, and there is all sort of cunning things this device can do, but not all at one time. I learned that when it sets up on certain turf, it makes what is known as a bench, and this can sometimes fail (aka "bench fail") which is usually very bad news and extremely time consuming, not to mention highly dangerous for the crew involved.
Wow, the internet has developed really fast over the last few years. These two guys are net boys. The top one is Markus Frind who opened a dating site called plentyoffish from his house in Vancouver and makes $10 million a year. The other one is Mark Zuckerberg who owns Facebook which also somehow generates revenue. I read somewhere they were uni dropouts but that may be false. Well done lads.

As any storeman worth their salt would know from the black number written on the front of this tractor, would suggest a returned materials authorisation number. I'm guessing this unit was sent back to John Deere for repair at some stage. These guys look ecstatic now that everything is back in order, living the dream.
The other night, we went for a drive and ended up at the beach somewhere in the pitch black... My driver thought we should go for a walk, so we did. We came across this area which had many rocks piled high and couldn't procceed any further. The next day on the news I snapped this image of the exact same spot we was on. As we predicted, there are major building works in this area which is being developed. I think this spot is the basis for a bridge or supply route.

Recently I was told of an aquaintice that he had drunk 12 bottles of whiskey, basically in one sitting (although that may have amounted to a few days.) What I was thinking the local supermarket would be easier just keeping a few barrels aside if he ever pops in again in future. Saves a lot of time at the checkouts too :)

Something that is pretty unique to this side of the world is a substance known as "Kava." When in New Zealand, some of their guys hyped it up as an alternative to drinking beer. Actually, I never got the time, nor inclination to try it, but researched it a little. Really, it is basically a natural plant from Fiji and works on your head if it is either fresh from the roots or dried into concentrated powder. It is not classified as narcotics, or illegal substance, and seems to have many well documented positive effects on your central nervous system.

Did another live mix tonight in my cube. Of course, live is full of holes, but these are "good" lives & yes, you know what I mean... Hope you like this one. Absolutly no preparation at all, just as it came.

No doubt everyone has heard of this sailing woman called Jessica Watson. It is quite a task she took, sailing for 7 months non stop. Over here the media is loving this. Personally it's been a while since I last sailed. My last recollections of sea travel was when I was a child in a canvas canoe which unfortunatly my brother shot a hole right through using a mid-powered rifle c/w scope for a laugh, ah so funny...
Anyways, in the UK this hysteria has been going on for a while & I can see where it originated from, see the recent image from families aborting their neighbourhoods via floatation device.

These new wi-fi doctors are all the rage. There has been robotic surgery advances too. Some of the better equipped hospitals have a system called the da vinci robot, or perhaps cyberknife. The idea is to have surgery available from a long distance performed by a competent trained operator, perhaps very far away in another country possibly. I like to think of it as a backup strategy in case a surgeon would not be immediatly available at location, there may be a surgeon at another hospital with suitable facility to perform the operation from distance.

Glad to see someone has done it justice... The E-Duster, lol :) Everyone with any brains knows of the Chevy Duster, or Plymouth Duster. Takes some balls to do a pro job like this guy did. Edison's wife used to run an electric car back in the 1920's, like many other people. It's hard to believe, but apparently electric vehicles used to outsell petroleum vehicles. This was because around 1920, Texas found a huge oil boom and hence, petrol was cheaper than electric... However today, things are different, and perhaps we are in a phase of taking a step back.

Ok so, by chance found some interesting clips of parlimentary brawls around the world... These are apparently the top 5 since around 2008, of course some are relatively recent, but you get the idea... These are just screengrabs and not actual videos, if you really that into this, i'm sure you'll find it on google... It goes to show, politics is not always the comfortable zone people sometimes make out to be. It's a big world & a small mind doesn't pay these days.
The reason I talk of this sort of stuff, is that the UK has just handed power back to the Conservatives just yesterday, probably narrowly avoiding a situation like above, who knows, something had to give.
