OK, I can't show you my sister's work, because it's kina off limits to cameras... Basically this is some snaps from the canteen. These signed pics were from famous racing drivers who must have endorsed the facility at some point.
This monument is at the top of Townsville. In it's purest form, Townsville is basically an Army town, that had major involvement in the Australian involvement in the Pacific Theatre operations of WWII, some pretty heavy shit was doled out from here, and likewise some crazy stories of the japs near caning this entire area. One story said basically, a jap strike was destined for here, but when they dropped their bombs, they missed. When they flew away from the strike, the Aussies were kina caught off guard and basically couldn't shoot the fighter down, despite following it for a good long time, until the petrol gauge was basically run dry, to tell the truth. Yeah, luck is an amazing thing ;) For a Google Maps spin, check http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Townsville+QLD&sll=-27.467613,153.02785&sspn=0.02178,0.055189&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Townsville+QLD&ll=-19.241224,146.80687&spn=0.022852,0.055189&z=14&layer=c&cbll=-19.24132,146.80696&panoid=GN78HMmyCzQeYHgkMmzXRg&cbp=12,111.46,,0,12.29
It's pre-set to street-view, the area is known as The Strand AKA Beachfront where the Airshow takes place. Also, it is probably the area that is the best bit of Townsville.
Back view of the monument... Interestingly though, ROBERT TOWNS, whom Townsville was named after was an Englishman who immigrated to Aus centuries ago. He worked in the shipping game down in Sydney but kinda made this area now known as Townsville his main area for shipping observations. Check wiki for the official blurb. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Towns
Oh look, a telecomms tower, great invention those. I could hazard a guess if those dishes have a big Z shaped stripe painted in red, they were probably made in Fife, Scotland by a company called Andrews Antennas. I thought us jocks were good for nothing! On this subject, I reckon it would be worth checkin' here for a small list of that the UK has been recognised for in years past... But what the hell would I know, I'm just a lonely jock from an island the size of one of these guys back gardens!

**Updated **05/10 Flew Over this area in Google Maps... This is known as Mount Stewart & imho is a great lookout point over this town. It's one of those places with a feelgood factor.
