This is Rosie, our landlady (although she doesn't own this lodge) she is a Samoan woman who lives here with her boyfriend. On the Chair is Mike, an ex seadog (mainly container ships/merchant stuff.) It was Mike's birthday yesterday and the cake was baked a Fijian girl called Sheryl who isn't in any of these pics because she was away doing other things...
This cake was very well made, good ingredients and time spent making this one. I wasn't offered a piece, so I had to ask for a slice because I was made to feel uneasy while everyone else got a slice :(
Here's another shot of Rosie.
This is Mike before his beard was shaved off. He usually sits outside smoking all day long and getting angry about things like his pension and how he reckons NZ it totally buggered...
It makes for interesting talk.
Molly the dog, belongs to a Greek/Italian chef who is sometimes here, the dog doesn't live here, just sometimes gets brought round when his kids are here. If you leave it alone, it whines all day long - watch the video below to see.
You would be amazed at what would sell over here, I was thinking about putting my old used razors on a website called "Trade-Me" this site sells anything you can think of.
This arrived from China a few weeks back, it's a rollup keyboard, however I think I will never get a chance to use it properly in this place.
At the top of a large hill you can see all around.
The table has a copper plate with etchings of how far it is to different locations around the world.
The night video... Something you see a lot of here is entire houses or swimming pools being transported on the main road (esp. at night) it is not uncommon to see the whole house moving up the road on an articulated lorry... It is pretty spectacular and damn dangerous to be honest. They roll really close to the other cars. Probably less than half a foot of clearance on some occasions. If you tried this in the UK, you'd end up in jail without a Police escort, but never mind that, look how much money these things cost $£$£$...
