This is the way to wash the clothes now. The machines here are not that great, you don't really need 'em. A $5 hand rake seems to work pretty good. I was looking for the proper hand-washing machine thing, but the chances of finding it here in redneck country are slim to nil. Oh well.

Met some Aboriginal people the other day, which I found pretty chilled out in general. I haven't seen many Aboriginals in Aus because the place is predominantly dominated with Kiwi's, Yanks, etc. It is pretty frustrating for the Aboriginals. Once where probably lied sacred ground is now built up with Mcdonalds or Kmart... Overall, they are ok with me. I think if you was a city slicker it may become a different story pretty quickly. I just keep myself to myself. Incidentally the guy I met was Rugby league player which would make sense, sport is big here.

The image above is from b-j history.com I'm not sure if it's copyright.
Also, something worthy of note is that in all the Google translations, you won't find Aboriginal listed as a recognised language...

Worked on this one over 2 days using software. Took a lot of thought this one.

Right, back on the subject of rain. Tonight I decided to follow the river along to the main dam. As per normal, the rain was on and heavy. From reading the information on the goverment website here, it seems the dam was pretty recently installed, in around 2009. I'm piecing together various bits of info and judging from what I can see, it would seem realistic given the weather situation here to expect some pretty bad flooding in this town at some point. The last bad ones were in 1998 when some houses got washed away. From looking at the maps, this place has one really bad achillies heel and that is of the main river. In the instance of fierce weather, this dam simply won't be able to cope. The only slight possibility of easing the water situation would be to widen the main river in order to let the water flow through a wider channel, thus making the town less prone to a catastrophic flood situation. However, this being capitolist place, basically most of the land has been built on, so it would be hard to do this. Also, the petrol consumption here is heavy, so the rain gets harder all the time. The info i read was that 200 - 700mm of rainfall in 24 hours is enough to be of concern, but I would reckon, this amount is easily being hit or exceeded within half that timeframe just now. I don't care anymore, I know from experience by the time you get the plan to the people that can do anything about it, it's often too late. So, personal prediction, this town would have maybe 2 years before being destroyed with water at current rates of rainfall/fuel consumption. Really, now would be about the time, to start carving out an ark...

Last night, I was just sitting in my cube waiting for my bed to arrive which will be a few weeks, grr, while the rain started up again.

I had been reading some interesting stories on Anti-Matter and Teleportation. The thing that is puzzling me is that in 2006 apparently a patent was granted (I can not verify if it is genuine at this stage) for a device or arrangment known as "Human Teleportation System." Now, it is my understanding, if a patent is granted, usually some kind of inspection is done or performed as per the originality and genuine practical workings of the subeject before it is granted. If so, basically, that means we are now able to teleport, or somebody somewhere probably is just now.

As for the Anti-Matter that is a complete other story which I am only beginning to understand the uses of such material. I have seen drawings of the containment device, which is very simple. The basic risk would only be a problem if electricity is cut to the container, in such instance, the magnetic properties fail and everything gets wasted basically.

It is very interesting, I think the idea is to make anti-matter just now, and then try and figure out uses for it later.

OK so, you got to see the rain down here. OMG hard, hard rainstorms. At the end of play today all I could see was thick black clouds/lightning as if someone had burst oil barrels in the sky. When it comes in, you got to move fast because the roads do flood quite often. One day I had to ram the scooter through a pretty deep 1/2 foot deep trench to get home. I though it would probably gash the bike, but at that point in time I truly wasn't caring anymore. You can't get moved down here for 4x4's etc, if the roads flood, it just makes things even more miserable than they probably should be. The cops and ambulance service are probably kept busy enough with these type of things during rain season. All I can say, is that tommorow I will be in the forklift if the weather is going to be like this all day again. It is possible this entire area could just flood given what i've seen is possible with Aus weather. Victoria gets the h2o treatment quite often and the last time I checked it had been buttered over badly about 2 or 3 times this year alone, I mean B U T T E R E D :(
There is all sort of intersting stories to tell you but tonight I am too tired to even do my weights and it looks like tommorow will be very busy again. Containers are flying around all over the place just now, with never-ending lorries. Of course I have a lot on my own mind apart from just business, but in the immediate, basically just staying alive and trying to outsmart the weather without becoming gored on the way to work.

Something that sprung to mind last night which I decided to copyright (C) as my own idea was that of the flying hovercraft (not to be confused with a very poor rendition made by a Kiwi recently.) Nah, a proper one. Check the hazy image for a slim idea of how it works...

The general idea is from the Parajet Skycar, but after seeing the worldwide flood damadge it crossed my mind that perhaps the original concept could be modified in order to facilitate these impassible areas, giving the user even more freedom. In short, if you was honestly flying around in a flying car and found that by bad fortune the landing spot of road was flooded, you'd quickly be in a world of hurt. Cue the flying hovercraft.

The model below is a combination of publicly available models on google sketchup, one of a parajet, and the other, of a concept 8 man hovercraft. Basically I just slapped them together, you know, keep it simple is something I always liked. Credits to them whoever they are for the models.

We was talking today about films. Somwhere it transpired that these guys watch films on what is known as "Blu Ray" discs. The only discs I bought in days past was DVD discs. I think these "Blu Ray" discs has been around over 5 years and I can honestly say I have never seen one title on this format. Every time I was told, the picture is sharper, better etc. Frankly I'm fed up with it all. All the best films, I've seen, and most of the best/creative people are probably dead now... Anyways, there's something to be said for not following the trend all the time. The last I heard, they was making a computer game costing $200 that basically involves trying to kill Fidel Castro, all in super sharp high defining graphics. Things has moved on a long way from the Amiga.

Something I haven't seen here yet is a device known as a hand spinner aka portable washing machine. There is a vendor of American products in every city that stocks these, but because this is rain time, they don't stock them at the moment. I was advised to go to a camping specialist otherwise it will all be hand washed from here. White goods here are not really up to the choice of UK, however there are some ok deals. In general, everything is ridiculously overpriced. It is taking a little getting used to. I'm used to going into the shop and all the stuff more or less being given away cheaply or good brand names and build quality.

Today I was mostly tapping & drilling holes with an old hand wound drill. Despite what the tool specialist said about buying the leccy one, I thought this would be more fun basically. It does work, I am not finished yet, but will be very soon. I recall my grandfather had one of these, about the only tool he had to be honest, this and a decent saw which he used to maintain 7 large farms in his day.

Recently, it crossed my mind, that almost everyone you meet nowadays has their eye on the gold chain... I was walking though the shopping centre thinking this tune "I got my eye on the gold chain." You see it everywhere you go, it's in their eyes, try looking for it next time you enter any business establishment.

Without my Thyroxine, you need a source of Iodine in order to keep you "pepped up." Something I know which works and also I enjoy is Muscles. Guaranteed, after a tub of these, you get a tremendous energy boost. This is because they are full of Iodine. Another good source like this, is Prawns. There are other great effects from these food sources especially for the male, however I will not go into this today.
The weather situation is changing here, coming into the wet time. Today we was soaked silly and had no need to shower at all. On the road home, I chanced fate and drove the scooter through about half a foot deep water, luckily nothing went wrong. Without photographic capability just now, I can not show the weather fluctuations, but I am not kidding, it pours down hardstyle. Also for the record, I came off the bike last week and nearly gored myself on the side of the road, making this the 8th vehicular accident that I has survived so far without any injury at all. Incidentally, there was no damadge at all on the bike not even a scratch, but it could have been a real nasty one, it's hard to explain. Oh well... Time for bed.

Something I have been smoking over here in Aus, is a Tobacco aka "White OX." I have stopped smoking before and probably will again, as it's terribly rotten for your health... However, sometimes you just can't beat a smoke. Anyways, this White Ox, if you know anything about good tobacco, is damn nice. For years I smoked Drum, which notails will say, is prisoners choice because it is so strong, but anyone in the know, will tellya it's because it's just a good tobacco. In short any tobacco coming out of Holland, is sure to be pretty good and this White Ox comes from... You guessed right, The Netherlands, so it's no surprise. One thing, it is pretty strong, just a bit more than Drum. I got to get off this stuff...

So you see, I was without internet for about a week. After much annoying running around town trying out stupid broadband sticks till one worked from the main phone company called Telstra. The Virgin ones just dont work, and basically if anything works, then that is a bonus. So you see the snake, well, I seen one yesterday outside my place. I believe this particular one is not poisonous but it's the first time I seen one close. It was not that great of a shock and eventually it just buggered off anyways. The image on here is credit to photolatvia.com as I am without photographic capabilities at the moment. My last phone got severely knackered and you can not get the same thing here aka Skypephone.
