One good thing I noticed on the news today, is that for once, scientists are in agreement about the fact that extreme weather patterns are now considered to be the norm and not the exception in many areas of the world.  This doesn't really make life any easier knowing this.  The only thing i can think that may curb the problem, is rations on carbon emissions, but implementing this, would prove difficult.
